Created in 1996 and inspired by the German Romantische Strasse, the Romantic Route is formed by 14 towns located in the tourist region of the Sinos and Hortências valleys. It is a trajectory of some 184 km that runs from São Leopoldo to São Francisco de Paula, passing through Novo Hamburgo, Estância Velha, Ivoti, Dois Irmãos, Morro Reuter, Santa Maria do Herval, Presidente Lucena, Linha Nova, Picada Café, Nova Petrópolis, Gramado and Canela.
In the highland region, the itinerary is varied, and visitors can learn about the local culture of the two largest groups of immigrants that settled in Rio Grande do Sul, namely the Germans and Italians. Check out some suggestions in three cities to make your trip all the more enjoyable.
